How to Have Beautiful Hair Using Items Found at Home
November 18, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
There are many hair treatments available on the market that can keep your hair healthy and shiny. If you don’t have enough budget or time to go to a hair salon, you can still keep your hair beautiful by using common items found at home.
Excess oil can make your hair dull and sticky. Dust can also accumulate in your hair. To make it shiny, you can brew some tea and use it as a final rinse after a shower. Tea has Tannic acid that can dissolve excess oils in your hair. It also has antibacterial and astringent properties. Tea will not only make your hair shiny but also keep it clean. If you don’t have tea at home, you can use some lemon juice or cider vinegar mixed with water. These acidic substances strip off some of the oils but they don’t have the other beneficial properties of tea. To use it, shampoo your hair and rinse with water. Pour the mixture on your hair and let it sit for a few minutes. Then rinse with warm water.
If you want to thoroughly clean your hair, you can use baking soda as a shampoo substitute. Baking soda removes excess oils and scrubs off dead skin from your scalp.
For silky smooth hair, use an ample amount of baking soda mixed with a little water. Massage it into your hair then rinse off with warm water.
Dry scalp can cause problems if it is not treated. Too much scratching can damage your scalp and may lead to hair loss. You can use honey mixed with water to moisturize your dry scalp. Massage the mixture on your scalp then let it stand for 3-5 minutes.
Olive oil can do wonders to your hair. It is rich in antioxidants and vitamin E to keep your hair healthy. It will also protect your hair from humidity and UV exposure from the sun. For damaged hair, apply a liberal amount on your hair. Use a shower cap and leave it on for 30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse after.
These items are readily available at home and can help keep your hair healthy. Take proper precautions when using these items. Make sure you are not allergic to any of these items or their chemical properties before you use them.
Dandruff is a Dating Turn Off
November 18, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
Women suffer from dandruff as often as men do. However, the stigma of having dandruff is more pronounced on women rather than men. It’s an unspoken rule that women should have perfect and beautiful hair regardless of length and color. It’s one of the first things men look at when they scout for a potential date. As with all the other parts of their bodies, women also flirt using their hair by casually tossing it to one side, running their hands through it; or letting it touch the guy’s the hand.
Would you date a woman with a bad case of dandruff? Imagine how horrifying and unsanitary it must be to see flecks of dead skin from the woman you’re out on a date with lands on your soup or glass of wine. What could have been a romantic evening would end abruptly and there won’t be as much as a phone call afterwards.
Dandruff is no laughing matter. It can be caused by a fungus that makes the scalp itchy and cause flakes of dead skin to fall off. While it is not contagious, it is rather unsightly. Treating your hair and scalp for dandruff is quick and easy which is why there’s no excuse to leave the problem untreated. There are numerous dandruff shampoos for all hair types. Some of these products have been proven to be effective in treating the condition in as little as a few days of use.
If you want some other home remedies, you can try applying tea tree oil to your scalp and massage it for several minutes. Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and can alleviate the itching caused by the fungus. This would lessen the instances of you scratching your head and scalp in public. For the more severe cases of dandruff, you can always consult a dermatologist for a cream or lotion which can be applied topically.
Say goodbye to dandruff today and start welcoming romance back into your life.
Dandruff: Tips on How to Get Rid of It
October 31, 2008 by ash · Leave a Comment
You can’t.
At least not completely. Dandruff is, by far,one of the most common hair ailments that most people do have to suffer from at one point or the other — the extent is determined by a variety of causes which is beyond the scope of this post. However, look at some of the reasons why dandruff occurs:
- Undue Stress and anxiety
- Over worked and undernourished
- Malnutrition
- lack of Hygiene
- Excessive perspiration
Even though we can’t really get rid of dandruff , it can be controlled and mininmized to a great extent and here’s how we suggest you do it:
- Shampoo regularly with a mild anti-dandruff shampoo– at least once a day — until you see a visible change in the reduction of dandruff occurrence. Note that some shampoos might not work for you and some might and the only way you would get to know is to actually employ the trial and error method. Keep in mind that stronger shampoos can irritate hair and even cause hair loss, which is something you can surely avoid. You don’t need another problem now, do you?
- Blood Circulation to the scalp is important for reducing dandruff. Ask your beautician to give you a regular massage — ensure that she does it with finger pads in a regular, circular motion.
- Health and nutrition has a vital role to play in the occurrence of dandruff. Please see that you get a balanced diet, avoid fatty foods, eat more greens, down more liquids ( water is still important). Get good sleep and avoid smoking, drinking etc.
